Tips to reduce weight
- Use water purification tablets instead of carrying all the water. One tablet purifies 1L and weighs less than 1g.
- Replace canned food with dehydrated or freeze-dried food, which weighs 3-4x less.
- Choose ultralight equipment (compact sleeping bag, poncho instead of jacket).
- Divide items among family members. Each adult can carry their own water and clothes.
